My latest piece is built on a 1” deep-edge solid pine board, using acrylic paint mixed with a thickening medium. Every single spec — around 9,000 individually painted points — rises off the surface, creating a textured landscape of valleys and canyons.
This work explores the idea that there are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on every beach on Earth. When viewed from the side, the layered dimensions reveal themselves like alternate planes in space.
